The National Institute for the Prevention of Workplace Violence sponsored an insightful, educational and critical look at the troubling issue of 'workplace violence'. W. Barry Nixon, President of The National Institute for the Prevention of Workplace Violence, hosts the radio program "Workplace Violence Today." The program was an unprecedented opportunity to educate the public on this emerging workplace issue. Oftentime this issue is focused on in the media only when there is a newsworthy incident, usually a workplace homicide. Each show featured a leading expert, practitioner or researcher discussing the theme for the evening, with a primary focus on an insightful dialogue with the guest, although calls from listeners are also taken. "Workplace Violence Today" went inside the stories and beyond, to discuss the broader aspects of this troubling trend. The focus was on examining the contributing factors, evaluating incidents, research, industry programs, government actions, legal implications and searching for solutions to stem the tide of the rise of violence in the workplace. The hour-long talk radio program was aired in Arizona, on station KFNX-AM 1100. The following is a list of some of the quest that were interviewed on the show. |
